El carlismo es un movimiento que ha sido muy estudiado pero sobre el que hay también grandes lagunas, como el tradicionalismo valenciano o laorganización y funcionamiento de las fuerzas carlistas. Se sabe bastante poco sobre cómo vivieron la guerra los soldados carlistas y los que se hallaban en el territorio dominado por ellos, al menos en lo que hace referencia a Valencia y Aragón. Este libro pretende cubrir esta carenciay recoge los resultados de la tesis doctoral del autor y de aportaciones posteriores. El rigor académico de la obra se combina con un lenguaje sencillo, la abundancia de ejemplos y el hecho de no requerir conocimientos previos, de manera que también resulta accesible y de interés para un público no especialista.
