1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.1:1 Në fillim Perëndia krijoi qiellin dhe tokën.1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.1:2 Toka ishte pa formë dhe e zbrazët; dhe errësira ishte mbi sipërfaqen e humnerës. Dhe Fryma e Perëndisë lëvizte mbi sipërfaqen e ujërave.1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.1:3 Dhe Perëndia tha: 'U bëftë dritë!' dhe u bë dritë.1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.1:4 Dhe Perëndia pa që drita ishte e mirë; dhe Perëndia e ndau dritën nga errësira.1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.1:5 Dhe Perëndia e quajti dritën 'Ditë' dhe errësirën e quajti 'Natë'. Kështu mbrëmja dhe mëngjesi ishin dita e parë.
